The Opportunity:
As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring high attendance and punctuality across the academy. This is a challenging and rewarding role that will allow you to make a real impact on student outcomes and support families in achieving better attendance rates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement and enforce the academy’s attendance policy with consistency and fairness.
- Provide targeted support and intervention for students and families with attendance issues.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies to improve attendance outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to encourage regular school attendance.
- Maintain accurate records and report attendance statistics to senior leadership.
- Develop and deliver training to staff on attendance-related policies and best practices.
- Support the academy in achieving its goal of high attendance and student engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience working in an educational setting, preferably in a role focused on attendance.
- A proactive and positive attitude with a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Strong IT skills, including the use of attendance management systems.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- A belief in the transformative power of education and a commitment to student success.
Preferred
- Experience in implementing attendance improvement strategies.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience working with families and supporting students with attendance challenges.
- Experience within United Learning or a similar multi-academy trust.
