The Opportunity:
As a Safeguarding Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of students. You will work closely with staff and external agencies to implement safeguarding policies and support students in need. This is a key role for those passionate about making a difference in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safeguarding policies and procedures in line with KCSIE and national guidelines.
- Liaise with internal and external agencies to report, monitor and support students and families.
- Provide intervention and guidance to students on well-being and educational matters.
- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and pastoral teams to ensure the safety of all students.
- Attend training and stay updated on safeguarding developments and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records and report incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the school in maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to safeguarding across the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Knowledge of safeguarding roles and responsibilities in education.
- Familiarity with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in a safeguarding role within an educational setting.
- Experience with pastoral care and student support.
- Experience with child protection and welfare policies.
- Experience working with external agencies and multi-agency teams.
- Knowledge of child development and emotional well-being.
