The Opportunity:

As a Learning Coach, you will support students through tailored interventions, helping them improve behaviour, attendance, and readiness for learning. This role is vital in bridging the gap between home and school, ensuring students return to mainstream education with confidence and progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a caseload of students with targeted academic and pastoral interventions
  • Work closely with students to improve behaviour, engagement, and attendance
  • Develop strong relationships with students, families, and school staff
  • Monitor and report on student progress and outcomes
  • Collaborate with other Learning Coaches and school teams to share best practices
  • Provide guidance and support to help students transition back into mainstream education
  • Attend relevant training and professional development sessions
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with stakeholders

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a pastoral or educational support role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
  • Commitment to the school’s mission and values
  • Understanding of student welfare and academic support strategies

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
  • Experience with student interventions or support programmes
  • Familiarity with United Learning’s ethos and approach to education
  • Experience working with students aged 11-16
