Reading Teacher needed at a school in Sheffield. Support students with literacy and reading development.

The Opportunity:
As a Reading Teacher, you will support students in improving their literacy, reading fluency, and comprehension. You will provide one-to-one and small-group interventions to help students become confident and independent readers, enabling them to access the wider curriculum successfully.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver targeted literacy interventions to support students' reading progress.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and families to monitor student progress and identify barriers to learning.
- Implement strategies that support students in making sustained academic progress.
- Promote a culture of reading across the school and support students in developing essential literacy skills.
- Contribute to the school’s wider literacy strategy and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
- Provide regular feedback to teaching staff and parents on student development.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in literacy or reading support.
- Strong knowledge of reading development and literacy strategies.
- Experience working with students requiring additional support in literacy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families.
- Commitment to the school’s mission of supporting student success and well-being.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or academy setting.
- Familiarity with the United Learning Trust and its values.
- Experience with literacy interventions or special educational needs support.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' lives.
