The Opportunity:

As an Attendance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring high attendance rates and supporting student well-being. This is a vital position in a school that values its staff and provides a supportive, inclusive environment for both students and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and track student attendance across the school.
  • Liaise with students, parents, and staff to address attendance issues.
  • Provide support and guidance to students to improve attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on attendance data.
  • Collaborate with pastoral teams to develop and implement attendance improvement strategies.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to enhance attendance management practices.
  • Support the school’s mission to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that encourages punctuality and regular attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a school or educational setting, preferably in attendance management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using school management systems and data recording software.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
  • Knowledge of pastoral care and student support strategies.
  • Experience in developing and delivering attendance improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of the importance of attendance in student achievement and well-being.
