Work Placement Officer (Part Time) – Build industry partnerships and support student placements at a dynamic further education institution.

The Opportunity:

As a Work Placement Officer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with employers and creating meaningful work experience opportunities for students. This role is vital in helping students gain practical skills and prepare for their future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers and industry partners.
  • Coordinate and manage work placements and industry experiences for students across both campuses.
  • Support students in preparing for placements, including CV writing, interview practice, and career guidance.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of work placements to ensure they meet educational and career goals.
  • Liaise with academic staff to align work experience with curriculum requirements.
  • Promote the benefits of work experience to students, parents, and employers.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations during placements.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on all placement activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in coordinating work placements or similar roles.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Knowledge of further education and the needs of students aged 16+.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including term time only plus 2 weeks.

Preferred

  • Experience in a further education or training environment.
  • Familiarity with the use of student management systems.
  • Experience with DBS checks and compliance procedures.
  • Understanding of vocational and academic progression pathways.
