The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Tutor, you will play a crucial role in supporting learners throughout their time at the school. This is a term-time only position that offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective and personalised pastoral support to learners throughout their academic journey.
  • Monitor and track student progress, identifying and addressing any barriers to learning.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to student welfare.
  • Deliver targeted interventions and support strategies to help students achieve their goals.
  • Maintain detailed records of student interactions and progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and caring environment that promotes student confidence and engagement.
  • Organise and participate in pastoral events and activities that enhance student experience.
  • Support students in making successful transitions between different stages of their education.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant experience in pastoral care or education support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Commitment to student well-being and personal development.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students aged 16 and over.
  • Knowledge of further education and tertiary education systems.
  • Experience in delivering pastoral support within a college environment.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
