The Opportunity:

As an EAL Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with English as an additional language. You will work closely with teachers and SENCos to deliver tailored learning activities and create an inclusive, culturally rich learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with English as an additional language in and out of the classroom
  • Deliver, track, and evaluate tailored learning activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCos to adapt resources and monitor progress
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment that celebrates linguistic and cultural diversity
  • Assist with the implementation of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Provide regular feedback on student progress to teaching staff
  • Contribute to the development of learning resources and strategies
  • Support the school’s commitment to social mobility and student achievement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with English as an additional language
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to inclusion and diversity
  • Understanding of child development and learning support

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or learning support roles
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Familiarity with the use of educational technology
