The Opportunity:
As a Computer Science and Business Studies Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring students and leading the department. You will shape the curriculum, design engaging lessons, and work closely with colleagues to ensure consistency and excellence in teaching. This is a leadership position with the potential to influence student outcomes and drive academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the department team, ensuring consistency and high standards in teaching and learning.
- Design and deliver a high-quality curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a focus on exam subjects.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that promote student engagement and academic progress.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and evaluate student performance to ensure continuous improvement in outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Deputy Principal and Senior Leadership Team to refine and enhance the curriculum.
- Support the delivery of the school’s cultural and extracurricular programs, including trips, clubs, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
- Participate in professional development initiatives and contribute to the ongoing growth of the teaching team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and completion of the Early Career Framework (ECF).
- Specialist knowledge in Computer Science and/or Business Studies.
- Experience in teaching and leading a department team.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Commitment to student success and a positive school culture.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum design and delivery at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
- Previous leadership experience within a school setting.
- Involvement in extracurricular activities or student enrichment programs.
