The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Biology Teacher to join our dynamic department. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and stimulating Biology lessons at GCSE and A-Level, with the ability to teach all science disciplines at KS3.
- Develop and implement high-quality curriculum materials and resources to support student learning and achievement.
- Promote a love of biology and raise attainment through motivating, challenging, and inspiring teaching.
- Support students in preparing for the Biology Olympiad, medical applications, and university admissions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
- Foster a culture of high expectations for practical experiments and challenging content.
- Offer additional support through revision sessions and subject clinics when needed.
- Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A good degree in an appropriate subject and a recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience in teaching Biology at GCSE and A-Level.
- The ability to deliver lessons using a range of teaching methods, including ICT.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of practical experimentation and high academic standards.
Preferred
- Experience in preparing students for the Biology Olympiad and supporting university applications.
- Experience in developing outstanding resources and schemes of work.
- Ability to teach another science at GCSE level.
