The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Biology Teacher to join our dynamic department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students, deliver engaging lessons, and contribute to a progressive and supportive learning environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of science education at the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and stimulating Biology lessons at GCSE and A-Level, with the ability to teach all science disciplines at KS3.
  • Develop and implement high-quality curriculum materials and resources to support student learning and achievement.
  • Promote a love of biology and raise attainment through motivating, challenging, and inspiring teaching.
  • Support students in preparing for the Biology Olympiad, medical applications, and university admissions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and share best practices.
  • Foster a culture of high expectations for practical experiments and challenging content.
  • Offer additional support through revision sessions and subject clinics when needed.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A good degree in an appropriate subject and a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching Biology at GCSE and A-Level.
  • The ability to deliver lessons using a range of teaching methods, including ICT.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of practical experimentation and high academic standards.

Preferred

  • Experience in preparing students for the Biology Olympiad and supporting university applications.
  • Experience in developing outstanding resources and schemes of work.
  • Ability to teach another science at GCSE level.
