Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality science lessons that engage and challenge students at KS4 and A Level.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that reflects the latest scientific knowledge and pedagogical best practices.
- Support student learning through effective assessment, feedback, and individualised guidance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, strategies, and expertise.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school's values.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to departmental planning and review.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to student progress tracking.
- Engage with parents and the wider community to support student achievement and school values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A relevant science degree from an established university.
- PGCE or QTS qualification or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- Demonstrated ability to reflect on and improve teaching practice.
Preferred
- Advanced subject knowledge including A Level and practical science skills.
- Experience in mentoring or training new teachers.
- Familiarity with ITT (Initial Teacher Training) processes.
- Experience with online learning platforms and digital resources.
