Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and impactful science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and physics.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and support each other.
  • Apply a consistent and assertive behavioural policy to maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Take ownership of student progress and ensure all learners, including those with EAL, PP, and SEND needs, are supported effectively.
  • Participate in departmental training and development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of well-resourced schemes of work.
  • Maintain a healthy work-life balance through the use of pre-planned lessons and shared resources.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Science education.
  • Strong subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and physics for KS3 and KS4.
  • Ability to plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining a consistent behavioural policy.
  • Commitment to supporting all students, including those with EAL, PP, and SEND needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong academic reputation and outstanding Ofsted ratings.
  • Familiarity with centralised lesson planning and resource sharing.
  • Keen interest in professional development and continuous improvement.
