Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across A Level Biology and BTEC Applied Human Biology courses.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and preparing for university or further study.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in a team-based, supportive environment to develop teaching resources and strategies.
  • Participate in department meetings and contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students as part of the school’s commitment to holistic education.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school’s training and development programmes.
  • Manage and maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support the school’s Plus classes to enhance student performance and achievement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Biology.
  • Experience in teaching at sixth form level or willingness to transition into sixth form teaching.
  • Commitment to working in a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet curriculum requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A Level Biology or related qualifications.
  • Background in Early Careers Teacher (ECT) training or support.
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching practices.
  • Familiarity with BTEC qualifications and Plus classes.
  • Strong record of student achievement and progression.
