The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality science lessons to students across all key stages, using innovative and engaging teaching methods.
- Prepare and implement detailed lesson plans aligned with the school’s curriculum and examination specifications.
- Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessments, including practical investigations and unit tests.
- Support students in achieving their full potential, with a focus on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of science teaching and learning.
- Stay up to date with developments in science education and incorporate new resources and technologies into teaching.
- Encourage student participation in science competitions and enrichment activities.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS and relevant subject knowledge in science.
- Experience of teaching science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, ideally with GCSE or A Level qualifications.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on leadership responsibilities when required.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values, including a focus on student well-being and academic excellence.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching A Level sciences or OCR specifications.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and online resources such as Kerboodle.
- Experience in mentoring or supporting early career teachers.
- Involvement in extra-curricular science activities or competitions.
