The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic team as an EAL Teacher and help international students aged 11–17 improve their English language skills. Create engaging lessons that promote confidence, fluency, and communication in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, level-appropriate English language lessons focused on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
  • Adapt teaching materials to suit mixed-ability international groups.
  • Use interactive, communicative, and project-based approaches to motivate learners.
  • Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive, and safe learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Work closely with the academic team to ensure consistent standards and share best practice.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and complete required documentation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A recognised EAL/ESOL/TEFL qualification (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, Trinity TESOL, PGCE with EAL specialism).
  • Experience teaching English to international learners, preferably in a school or summer programme setting.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire young learners from varied cultural backgrounds.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

Preferred

  • Experience working in residential or short-course programmes.
  • Experience teaching teenagers or mixed-ability groups.
  • Familiarity with project-based learning and activity-based language teaching.
