The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in Product Design to A Level and equivalent courses.
  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical skills in design and engineering.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create and maintain innovative teaching resources.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students within the department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Supervise and mentor students during practical and project-based learning.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate them into teaching.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular and enrichment activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Product Design or related subjects.
  • Ability to teach A Level Product Design and Engineering A Level Equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student support and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred

  • Experience in sixth form teaching or Early Careers Teacher (ECT) with a training plan.
  • Knowledge of design engineering, architecture, or spatial design.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with IT and digital tools used in design education.
