The Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to support the financial management of the school by working closely with the Trust Office. This role is critical to the smooth running of the school’s finance operations and requires a high level of accuracy, discretion, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records in accordance with school and Trust Office requirements.
- Prepare and submit financial reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist in the reconciliation of accounts and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Support the finance team in the day-to-day operations of the school’s financial management.
- Collaborate with the Trust Office to ensure seamless financial processes and reporting.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all financial transactions and ensure data integrity.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure all financial documentation is stored securely and accessible for audit purposes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Experience in bookkeeping or financial record-keeping, preferably in an educational setting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to safeguarding and working with children.
Preferred
- Experience with financial reporting and budgeting processes.
- Knowledge of educational finance systems and processes.
- Familiarity with DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience in an Islamic or faith-based educational institution.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £25,000 – £28,000 per annum (FTE, dependent on experience).
- Flexible working hours (part-time or full-time considered).
- Structured working hours from 8:00am – 4:30pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.
