The Opportunity:

As a Bursar, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure the school runs efficiently and safely. This role is central to maintaining the school’s values and vision, while supporting the academic and personal development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic, financial, and operational management across the school.
  • Ensure the school functions efficiently, safely, and in alignment with its values and vision.
  • Work closely with the Head and Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee finance, budgeting, payroll, estates, IT, catering, and administration.
  • Manage health and safety processes, including fire and lockdown procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all non-academic regulatory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Lead and manage designated staff, including performance reviews.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership presence and ability to work proactively with limited supervision.
  • Strong commercial judgement and ability to balance costs and benefits.
  • Competent in key applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Successful track record of leading multidisciplinary teams with commercial and operational priorities.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Preferred

  • Customer service expertise, including managing queries and complaints.
  • Experience in property or facility management.
  • Mindset of continual improvement and service excellence.
  • Positive, solution-focused and “can-do” approach.
