The Opportunity:

As a Business and Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the school runs efficiently and effectively. This is a leadership position that requires strategic thinking, strong management skills, and a commitment to student success. You will be responsible for overseeing key operational areas and supporting the school’s mission to deliver the highest standards of education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the administrative function to ensure smooth, compliant, and efficient school operations.
  • Oversee the management of ICT resources, premises, health and safety, and contracts such as catering and grounds maintenance.
  • Lead and support non-teaching staff, providing clear direction and fostering a positive working environment.
  • Ensure the effective management of pupil data, including records, admissions, and attendance.
  • Collaborate with contractors and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Promote a strong business ethos that aligns with the school’s mission and values.
  • Work closely with the Principal and senior leadership team to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong management skills with the ability to lead and develop non-teaching staff.
  • Experience in managing administrative functions within an educational institution.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to manage and oversee contracts and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with pupil data management systems and processes.
  • Familiarity with school operations and the use of educational technology.
  • Background in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) or staff development initiatives.
  • Experience in a large-scale educational institution or academy trust.
