The Opportunity:
As a Governance Manager and Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the Governing Board and ensuring the smooth running of governance processes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a school in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organise and clerk governing board and committee meetings.
- Prepare agendas, meeting papers, and accurate minutes.
- Support the annual cycle of governance work, including monitoring and reporting.
- Maintain records and statutory information, including updating the school website.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with governors and senior leaders.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards and statutory requirements.
- Provide timely and accurate administrative support to the Governing Board.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance processes and procedures.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience in governance, administration, or a similar role.
- Ability to work independently and professionally.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with governance processes and statutory requirements.
- Confidence in working with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience with preparing and managing meeting agendas and minutes.
