The Opportunity:

As a Governance Manager and Clerk, you will play a key role in supporting the Governing Board and ensuring the smooth running of governance processes. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a school in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and clerk governing board and committee meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting papers, and accurate minutes.
  • Support the annual cycle of governance work, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Maintain records and statutory information, including updating the school website.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with governors and senior leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards and statutory requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate administrative support to the Governing Board.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of governance processes and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in governance, administration, or a similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and professionally.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with governance processes and statutory requirements.
  • Confidence in working with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with preparing and managing meeting agendas and minutes.
