Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective science lessons to students across Key Stages 4 and 5.
  • Prepare and deliver curriculum content aligned with the school’s high standards and commitment to excellence.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results in GCSE and A Level qualifications in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance teaching resources and strategies.
  • Organise and lead educational trips and visits, including opportunities to CERN, Switzerland.
  • Work closely with dedicated technicians and admin support to ensure smooth delivery of lessons and resources.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programme and contribute to departmental initiatives.
  • Support the induction and development of Early Career Teachers (ECTs) through a structured and supportive process.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in science education.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality lessons and achieve excellent student outcomes.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos of excellence and student achievement.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
  • Experience working with ECTs or in a leadership role within a department.
  • Experience with educational trips and visits to enhance student learning.
