The Opportunity:

As a Careers and University Guidance Counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and career paths of students from Years 7 to 13. You will provide individualised guidance, support with university applications, and develop a comprehensive careers curriculum tailored to a diverse student body. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on students’ futures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee a careers curriculum for Years 7-13, integrating careers education into KS3 and KS4.
  • Support Year 9 pupils with GCSE choices and Year 11 pupils with A Level choices.
  • Liaise with universities to organise higher education fairs and university visits.
  • Maintain and expand a strong alumni network.
  • Arrange guest speakers to share career journeys and insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience with UCAS and international university placements, including the US, Canada, and Australia.
  • In-depth understanding of A levels and BTECs within the global higher education context.
  • Experience using careers education platforms such as Unifrog.
  • Ability to liaise with universities, employers, and school leadership to coordinate work experience and career development opportunities.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering careers education programs.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience in working with a diverse student population.
  • Knowledge of international education trends and practices.
