The Opportunity:
As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages. This is an opportunity to work with a dedicated team and be part of a school that values professional growth and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain service areas and equipment to ensure efficient and effective meal delivery.
- Assist in the cooking and serving of food and beverages to a high standard.
- Clean catering areas and kitchen equipment to meet required hygiene and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with the Catering Team to support the school’s meal service and catering events.
- Ensure all food preparation and service activities are carried out in line with health and safety protocols.
- Support the delivery of catering services during school events and special occasions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment at all times.
- Follow all procedures and guidelines set by the school and the Wade Deacon Trust.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in a catering or food service environment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Flexibility to work term-time only and on a part-time basis.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Experience with meal planning or portion control.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
