The Opportunity:

As a Catering Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages. This is an opportunity to work with a dedicated team and be part of a school that values professional growth and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain service areas and equipment to ensure efficient and effective meal delivery.
  • Assist in the cooking and serving of food and beverages to a high standard.
  • Clean catering areas and kitchen equipment to meet required hygiene and safety standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Catering Team to support the school’s meal service and catering events.
  • Ensure all food preparation and service activities are carried out in line with health and safety protocols.
  • Support the delivery of catering services during school events and special occasions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized working environment at all times.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines set by the school and the Wade Deacon Trust.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in a catering or food service environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
  • Flexibility to work term-time only and on a part-time basis.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Experience with meal planning or portion control.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
