The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and experienced Catering Manager to lead its catering team and elevate the food service for students and staff. This role offers the chance to shape a dynamic and impactful catering experience while working in a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage, lead, and motivate the catering team to ensure a high-performing and collaborative environment.
  • Design and implement balanced, nutritious menus that meet dietary needs and school standards.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, and hygiene standards.
  • Manage the catering budget effectively, ensuring cost control and value for money.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP and COSHH standards.
  • Engage with students, staff, and parents to gather feedback and continuously improve the catering service.
  • Maintain accurate records and conduct regular risk assessments to ensure health and safety compliance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience in a similar catering role, ideally in a school setting.
  • Relevant qualification in food safety and hygiene (e.g., Level 3 Food Hygiene).
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Experience in budget management and financial planning.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with menu planning and food presentation.
  • Knowledge of catering in a school environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
