The Opportunity:
As the Second in Faculty - Mathematics, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the maths department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and inspiring educator who is committed to raising standards and supporting student achievement across all abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Faculty in curriculum planning, staff development and raising standards of pupil attainment
- Promote inclusive practice, safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- Uphold the school’s ethos, policies and values while ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all pupils
- Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the maths department is a dynamic and supportive environment
- Ensure the effective use of resources and strategies to enhance pupil engagement and achievement
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics
- Experience in teaching mathematics at a range of levels
- High expectations of behaviour and achievement
- Ability to inspire and engage pupils of all abilities
- Commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Experience in curriculum planning and staff development
- Strong organisational and reflective skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role
- Experience with assessment strategies and data analysis
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
- Experience with teaching in the sixth form
- Experience with the use of technology in teaching and learning
