The Opportunity:

As the Second in Faculty - Mathematics, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing the maths department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and inspiring educator who is committed to raising standards and supporting student achievement across all abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Faculty in curriculum planning, staff development and raising standards of pupil attainment
  • Promote inclusive practice, safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform teaching
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Uphold the school’s ethos, policies and values while ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all pupils
  • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the maths department is a dynamic and supportive environment
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and strategies to enhance pupil engagement and achievement

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge in mathematics
  • Experience in teaching mathematics at a range of levels
  • High expectations of behaviour and achievement
  • Ability to inspire and engage pupils of all abilities
  • Commitment to inclusive practice, safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Experience in curriculum planning and staff development
  • Strong organisational and reflective skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or senior teaching role
  • Experience with assessment strategies and data analysis
  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting
  • Experience with teaching in the sixth form
  • Experience with the use of technology in teaching and learning
