The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a forward-thinking science faculty committed to academic and co-curricular excellence.
  • Ensure science teaching aligns with the school’s principles and values while fostering innovation and creativity.
  • Oversee the implementation of high-impact science enrichment opportunities, including the Stan-X genetic engineering project.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes across all science disciplines.
  • Support the development of future science leaders through mentorship and professional growth opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in science education and research.
  • Work closely with external partners, including Stanford University, to develop cutting-edge science pathways.
  • Ensure the science department contributes meaningfully to the school’s mission of developing well-rounded, globally minded individuals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a science department within a school or educational institution.
  • Strong track record in delivering high academic standards and student success in science subjects.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and lead curriculum development in science education.
  • Experience in managing and developing a large, high-performing teaching team.
  • Commitment to the school’s ethos of the "Whole Person Whole Point" and co-curricular engagement.

Preferred

  • Experience with international educational initiatives or collaborations.
  • Familiarity with the IB and A Level curricula.
  • Background in research or advanced science education.
  • Experience in developing enrichment programs in genetics, chemistry, or physics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to inspire and motivate others.
