The Opportunity:

As a Key Stage 4 Leader, you will play a vital role in ensuring students achieve their full potential, particularly in the lead-up to GCSEs. This strategic role combines academic leadership with pastoral care, making a real impact on student outcomes and school performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and improve student progress across Key Stage 4, ensuring all pupils achieve their potential.
  • Work closely with Pupil Experience Leads and Subject/Faculty leaders to implement effective interventions.
  • Track student performance and provide targeted support to ensure positive outcomes for all students.
  • Support the development of a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that meets individual needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Promote a positive school culture that supports both academic and personal development.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the school and the Extended Leadership Team.
  • Ensure all students are prepared for life beyond school through effective pastoral and academic support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading Key Stage 4 provision in a school setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of GCSE curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Experience in monitoring and improving student progress and outcomes.
  • Commitment to inclusion, equity, and the well-being of all students.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral care and student support.
  • Familiarity with multi-academy trust structures and operations.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or other specialist subject areas.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with students, parents, and colleagues at all levels.
