The Opportunity:

As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of students and staff. You will provide nursing care, first aid, and health education, while supporting the school’s commitment to student welfare and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to pupils and first aid to staff.
• Conduct basic assessments of minor illness and injury, and monitor long-term conditions.
• Administer medicines and treatments, including asthma and allergy care.
• Run nursing clinics such as morning surgery, asthma, vaccination, and wound care.
• Keep accurate records of patient consultations, drug administration, and immunisation records.
• Participate in health promotion and education initiatives.
• Carry out medical assessments for new pupils and update their health records.
• Support training sessions for staff on health-related topics.
• Work flexibly across a range of shifts, including evenings and on-call hours.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
• Minimum of 1 year of post-registration nursing experience.
• Good IT skills.
• Understanding of the NMC Code of Conduct.
• Experience in working with young people in a school environment.

Preferred

• Dual qualification in RN/Child Branch.
• Experience with immunisations, diabetes, asthma, and minor injuries.
• Experience in health education and health promotion.
