The Opportunity:

As the Head of Performing Arts - Drama Specialist, you will lead the Performing Arts department and shape a vibrant, inclusive, and creative environment that inspires students. This role is central to delivering a high-quality curriculum in Drama, Music, and Dance, while supporting the school’s broader educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Performing Arts department, including curriculum development and delivery.
  • Teach examination classes and support student achievement across all levels.
  • Manage and develop a team of staff, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • Organise and oversee school performances and co-curricular events.
  • Analyse student data to inform department-wide strategies and interventions.
  • Stay current with pedagogical research and integrate innovative teaching practices.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reflection, and professional development.
  • Engage in extended curriculum opportunities and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in delivering examination classes.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a departmental team effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of the Performing Arts curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Demonstrated experience in enhancing student performance and engagement.
  • Ability to evaluate student data and implement targeted interventions.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development.

Preferred

  • Experience in performing arts as a practitioner or performer.
  • Background in drama education and curriculum leadership.
  • Experience with co-curricular and extracurricular programme development.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
