The Opportunity:

As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to students and staff in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is essential to maintaining the school’s standards in food preparation, safety, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve food to the highest standard, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Support the production and presentation of meals, with a focus on nutritional value, allergen control, and hygiene.
  • Adhere to company procedures for temperature checks, food labelling, and cleaning schedules.
  • Assist Sous chefs in managing kitchen stations and take responsibility in their absence.
  • Identify and report hazards or defects in the kitchen, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Maintain stock control and rotation to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Keep work areas clean, hygienic, and tidy at all times.
  • Participate in training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous kitchen experience in a similar role or environment.
  • A Food Preparation and Cookery NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
  • A Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high standards.
  • Effective communication skills with customers, clients, and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in a high-volume or hospitality setting.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including early and late hours.
