The Opportunity:
As a Sports Instructor, you will play a vital role in promoting physical education and sports within a school that values both academic and personal development. You will be responsible for coaching students during PE lessons and managing extracurricular sports clubs, while also supporting the wider PE department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and support students in PE lessons and during extracurricular sports activities.
- Plan and deliver sports clubs that cater to all students.
- Organise and manage home and away fixtures, including liaising with other schools and local sports clubs.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to sports and events.
- Develop and implement coaching strategies aligned with best practice.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Source new links with local sports organisations and schools.
- Take ownership of sports teams and ensure their success and development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A sports-related degree or equivalent professional coaching qualifications.
- Proven experience working as a Sports Instructor or Coach.
- Ability to develop and implement effective coaching strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or coaching within a school environment.
- Knowledge of a range of sports and physical education best practices.
- Experience with organising and managing sports fixtures and events.
- Passion for inspiring and motivating students through sport.
