The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and capable Chemistry Teacher to join a successful and highly regarded department. This role offers the opportunity to teach at KS3 and across GCSE and A level, with a focus on inspiring students to achieve their best. The ideal candidate will be a confident and enthusiastic educator who can contribute to a dynamic and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Chemistry at KS3, GCSE, and A level to a highly motivated and capable cohort of students.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that promote a deep understanding of Chemistry and its real-world applications.
  • Support students in achieving their personal best through individualized guidance and high-quality teaching.
  • Collaborate with the Science team to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and resources.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the Chemistry curriculum.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department and technician to ensure a smooth and successful teaching experience.
  • Provide pastoral support and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in Chemistry or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry at KS3 and A level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a selective or grammar school setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience with CPD and professional development.
  • Experience with using technology in the classroom.
