The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Chemistry to students at GCSE and A Level.
  • Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Stay up to date with the latest pedagogical research and apply it effectively in the classroom.
  • Support students in developing a deep understanding of complex scientific concepts.
  • Collaborate with the Science Department to enhance teaching and learning across the curriculum.
  • Participate in co-curricular activities and contribute to the wider life of the school.
  • Work closely with experienced colleagues and departmental technicians to ensure the best possible student outcomes.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Chemistry.
  • Experience teaching Chemistry up to and including A Level.
  • Demonstrable ability to inspire and engage students in the classroom.
  • Strong subject knowledge and up-to-date with current teaching methods and curriculum requirements.

Preferred

  • Experience with Edexcel GCSE and AQA A Level syllabi.
  • Familiarity with modern science teaching techniques and resources.
  • Experience in co-curricular or extra-curricular science activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
