The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Science to lead Science teaching at Key Stages 1 and 2. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum delivery, inspire students, and contribute to a dynamic and supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Science department at Key Stages 1 and 2.
• Deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons that challenge and inspire students.
• Develop and implement a progressive and innovative Science curriculum.
• Support and mentor Science teachers to enhance teaching and learning.
• Promote a culture of curiosity, inquiry, and scientific thinking across the school.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate Science into cross-curricular activities and co-curricular programmes.
• Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement in Science education.
• Represent the Science department in school meetings and external events.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Qualified teacher with experience in Science education at Key Stages 1 and 2.
• Strong leadership and management experience within a school setting.
• Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging Science lessons.
• Commitment to student development and academic excellence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
• Familiarity with digital learning tools and resources.
• Involvement in co-curricular or extracurricular Science activities.
• Experience with STEAM education and interdisciplinary learning.
