A Class Teacher for Pupils with Moderate to Severe SEND is needed to support the learning and development of children with additional needs. This role is ideal for a passionate educator who wants to make a meaningful impact in an inclusive and supportive school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with moderate to severe SEND
  • Collaborate with parents, external professionals, and colleagues to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Adapt curriculum content to meet the individual needs of each pupil
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils with diverse learning needs
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Implement effective teaching strategies that promote inclusion and equality
  • Work within a structured learning pathway to help pupils prepare for adult life
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of a bespoke curriculum tailored to individual learning needs

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent qualification in primary education
  • Experience working with pupils with moderate to severe SEND
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to support diverse learners
  • Commitment to inclusion and equality in education

Preferred

  • Experience with Education, Health and Care Plans
  • Knowledge of specialist teaching strategies for pupils with autism and learning difficulties
  • Experience in a cooperative or values-based educational setting
  • Familiarity with Makaton or other communication support methods
  • Experience in developing and delivering individualized learning pathways
