The Opportunity:
As a Class Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining a high-quality educational environment for pupils with Autism. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives through innovative and creative teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver tailored, engaging lessons that meet individual students' learning needs and EHCP outcomes
- Set clear learning objectives and use Autism-specific practices to personalise work for individuals and groups
- Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff to create holistic learning experiences
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress
- Organise and maintain a stimulating classroom environment and ensure resources are available to promote learning
- Monitor and assess pupils’ progress, keeping accurate records and reporting achievement in line with school policy
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience working with pupils with Autism
- Ability to develop and deliver individualised learning plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Background in special educational needs (SEN)
- Experience with transdisciplinary working in a school setting
