The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher – SEND to join our dynamic team. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEND, while benefiting from continuous professional development and a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized teaching and learning experiences tailored to the needs of students with SEND
  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans and resources that support student progress and engagement
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to create a holistic support network for students
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing detailed feedback to students and parents
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and behavior
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment for all students
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and SEND provision
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a school rated Outstanding by Ofsted
  • Background in curriculum development or special needs support
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and differentiated instruction methods
  • Experience with behavior management strategies in a SEND setting
