The Opportunity:
As a Progress Tutor, you will play a vital role in supporting students’ academic and personal development. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in students’ lives, helping them achieve their goals and reach their full potential within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the first point of contact for your assigned cohort, providing strong pastoral support and promoting a culture of high expectations.
- Deliver a structured tutorial programme to support academic progress and personal growth.
- Track student progress, set meaningful SMART targets, and ensure positive outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, Area Leaders, and support teams to address individual student needs.
- Promote essential study skills, resilience, critical thinking, and independent learning.
- Support students through key milestones, including enrolment, UCAS applications, and career progression.
- Provide clear communication to students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students in a pastoral or academic support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to student welfare and academic success.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Preferred
- Experience with tutorial or mentoring programmes.
- Familiarity with study skills development and independent learning strategies.
- Experience with UCAS applications or career guidance.
- Knowledge of A Level or BTEC qualifications.
