The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Criminology Teacher to join our dynamic Social Sciences Department. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. The position may also involve teaching Psychology, depending on the candidate's experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Criminology lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes critical thinking and real-world application.
- Support students in achieving excellent academic results and preparing for future careers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Social Sciences curriculum.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
- Engage in professional development and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- Organise and deliver enrichment activities that enhance students’ learning experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Criminology or a related subject.
- Strong knowledge of Criminology and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Psychology or a related subject.
- Experience in a further education or school setting.
- Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
