The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Criminology Teacher to join our dynamic Social Sciences Department. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. The position may also involve teaching Psychology, depending on the candidate's experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Criminology lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that promotes critical thinking and real-world application.
  • Support students in achieving excellent academic results and preparing for future careers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Social Sciences curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students as needed.
  • Engage in professional development and stay up to date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Organise and deliver enrichment activities that enhance students’ learning experience.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Criminology or a related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of Criminology and the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Psychology or a related subject.
  • Experience in a further education or school setting.
  • Familiarity with using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies.
