The Opportunity:
As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during lunchtime across the school premises. This is an essential position that supports the school’s mission to create a positive and structured environment for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during lunchtime in the dining room, playground, and throughout the academy premises.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils at all times.
- Encourage positive behavior and promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
- Support the smooth running of the lunchtime routine and manage any incidents promptly.
- Work closely with teaching staff and other support staff to maintain a consistent approach to student behavior.
- Assist with the supervision of students during break and lunchtimes in accordance with school policies.
- Provide a calm and encouraging presence to help students develop social skills and confidence.
- Report any concerns or issues to the appropriate staff members in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexibility to work during lunch and break times on a part-time basis.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a supervisory or support role within a school.
- Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies.
- Experience working in a school that follows a similar ethos or values-based approach.
- First aid or similar qualifications would be an advantage.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Part-time, permanent position with competitive pro rata salary.
- Term-time only working hours (38 weeks per year).
