The Opportunity:

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during lunchtime across the school premises. This is an essential position that supports the school’s mission to create a positive and structured environment for all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during lunchtime in the dining room, playground, and throughout the academy premises.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils at all times.
  • Encourage positive behavior and promote a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Support the smooth running of the lunchtime routine and manage any incidents promptly.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other support staff to maintain a consistent approach to student behavior.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during break and lunchtimes in accordance with school policies.
  • Provide a calm and encouraging presence to help students develop social skills and confidence.
  • Report any concerns or issues to the appropriate staff members in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility to work during lunch and break times on a part-time basis.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or support role within a school.
  • Knowledge of child development and behavior management strategies.
  • Experience working in a school that follows a similar ethos or values-based approach.
  • First aid or similar qualifications would be an advantage.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Part-time, permanent position with competitive pro rata salary.
