The Opportunity:
As a Learning Manager, you will be a key player in supporting student success by focusing on welfare, intervention, and data-driven strategies. This role is ideal for someone passionate about removing barriers to learning and ensuring all students thrive in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor student progress using MIS systems and data to identify concerns and implement appropriate interventions.
- Act as the first point of contact for behavior-related incidents and support the consequences process, including contacting parents and managing readmission meetings.
- Liaise with external agencies, chairing Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings, and supporting truancy sweeps.
- Coordinate year group logistics, including vaccinations, photographs, and attendance checks.
- Support the Education Welfare Officer and manage complex student cases.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and external agencies to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in a school environment with knowledge of issues affecting students and young people.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
- Empathy and the ability to relate sympathetically to students.
- Awareness of potential child safeguarding issues.
Preferred
- Experience working with agencies that support vulnerable students.
- Experience in strategic intervention and data-driven monitoring.
