The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our dedicated team and ensure the College premises are maintained to the highest standards. This role is essential in supporting the learning environment and contributing to the College’s mission of providing a clean, safe, and welcoming space for students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain College premises to the required standards.
• Ensure all areas are tidy, safe, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Use cleaning equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently.
• Report any maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate personnel.
• Work flexible hours as required to support the College’s cleaning schedule.
• Interact professionally with students, staff, and visitors.
• Adhere to the College’s policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.
• Assist with any additional duties as required by the Cleaning Team Leader.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Previous experience in a cleaning role, preferably within an educational setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and term time only.
• Good communication skills to interact with students and staff.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Valid DBS clearance or willingness to obtain it.

Preferred

• Experience working with young people or in a school or college environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a workplace setting.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when required.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary based on the SFCA Support Staff scale point 3.
