Key Responsibilities:

  • Support deaf students in developing communication skills through individualized strategies and interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support across all learning environments.
  • Deliver targeted communication sessions tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Promote inclusive practices and ensure that all students have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
  • Work closely with the Additional Resource Provision (ARP) team to support the needs of 20 deaf children.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in working with deaf children or students with communication needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working in a supportive and inclusive educational environment.
  • Ability to deliver targeted communication support in a school setting.
  • Willingness to train to Level 6 (or currently at Level 3 with a desire to progress).

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL) or other communication methods.
  • Experience with the Additional Resource Provision (ARP) model.
  • Experience in developing and implementing individual communication plans.
