The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in A Level Computer Science (AQA) and BTEC IT to a motivated student cohort.
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and technical skill development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, support professional development, and enhance teaching practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and integrate relevant technologies and practices into the curriculum.
  • Support students in achieving their academic goals and prepare them for further study or employment.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to Computer Science and IT.
  • Monitor student progress and provide individualised feedback to help students reach their full potential.
  • Contribute to the school’s commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Computer Science or IT.
  • Experience teaching A Level Computer Science or BTEC IT, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for the subject.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and support shared goals.

Preferred

  • Experience with industry-standard programming languages and software.
  • Familiarity with teaching in a sixth-form setting.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices and supporting diverse learners.
  • Background in professional development or leadership within education.
