The Opportunity:

As a Core Subject Teacher, you will play a vital role in transforming the lives of young people with SEND and SEMH needs. You will deliver high-quality, trauma-informed tuition in Maths, English, or Science, making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person, online, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to students with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and PMLD
  • Plan and deliver trauma-informed, flexible tutoring and mentoring sessions
  • Provide regular feedback and complete detailed lesson reports on student progress
  • Support students referred by local authorities and schools with tailored learning plans
  • Work closely with the SEND Support Team to ensure the best outcomes for students
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment with a focus on safeguarding
  • Engage in continuous professional development and mentorship programs
  • Collaborate with a tutor community to share knowledge and resources

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 2+ years of teaching experience, ideally with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Familiarity with teaching Maths, English, and/or Science
  • Enhanced DBS and 2+ professional references
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

Preferred

  • Experience with SENDCo, SLD/MLD teaching, or autism/ADHD support
  • Background in therapeutic or learning support roles such as Educational Therapist or Learning Support Assistant
  • Experience with online and hybrid teaching delivery
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
