The Opportunity:

As an SEN Tutor, you will provide targeted academic and emotional support to young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable learners while enjoying the flexibility of remote, in-person, or hybrid teaching options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed tuition in Maths, English, or Science to students with SEND and SEMH needs
  • Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons tailored to the specific requirements of each learner
  • Monitor and report on student progress through detailed feedback and regular communication
  • Work flexibly across a range of settings, including in-person, online, and hybrid environments
  • Collaborate with local authorities and schools to support learners from KS1 to KS5
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment that prioritises the well-being of each student
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and mentorship programmes
  • Stay up to date with best practices in SEND and SEMH support

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD students
  • Experience in delivering trauma-informed and holistic support
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
  • Based in the UK with the right to work in the UK

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching English, Maths, or Science
  • Familiarity with working in SENDCo, LSA, or intervention specialist roles
  • Experience with MLD, SLD, or PMLD learners
  • Knowledge of educational therapy or speech and language support
