The Opportunity:

As a Remote Teacher, you will provide essential academic support to young people with SEND and SEMH needs. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable learners while enjoying the flexibility of remote, hybrid, or in-person teaching options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD needs
  • Plan and deliver flexible, student-centred lessons that support academic and emotional growth
  • Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and the SEND Support Team to ensure consistent progress
  • Complete detailed lesson reports and provide timely feedback on student progress
  • Collaborate with the tutor community to share resources and best practices
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment in line with safeguarding policies
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices
  • Support students referred by local authorities and schools through tailored interventions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience teaching online or remotely, preferably with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or PMLD students
  • Familiarity with teaching Maths, English, and/or Science
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and 2+ professional references

Preferred

  • Experience working with SEND students in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Background in roles such as SENDCo, Intervention Specialist, or Educational Therapist
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work in hybrid or in-person settings when required
