The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor and Manual Handling Lead, you will ensure smooth operations across the school, support teaching staff, and promote safe manual handling practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and school operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily cover arrangements across the school
  • Liaise with external agencies to secure suitable cover staff
  • Manage and deploy midday supervisors
  • Lead structured and unstructured play provision
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and provide classroom support
  • Lead delivery of physiotherapy programmes (9:00am–12:00pm)
  • Promote and monitor safe manual handling practices
  • Work collaboratively with staff, senior leadership, and external professionals

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a school setting (SEND experience desirable)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Confident leading groups and supporting pupils’ learning
  • Ability to build positive relationships with staff and external partners
  • Knowledge or experience of manual handling (training can be provided)

Preferred

  • Experience in manual handling leadership
  • Experience in SEND education
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience with physiotherapy programmes or similar support roles
