Summary:

KS1 English Tutor with experience in SEN required in Tulse Hill area.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced KS1 English Tutor to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of young learners. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to working with students with SEN and has a strong command of the English language.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English tuition to KS1 students with special educational needs
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles and needs
  • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that align with curriculum standards
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the school
  • Collaborate with education consultants to ensure the highest standards of teaching and support
  • Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Attend training sessions and follow safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Communicate regularly with parents and the school to support student development

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in English for KS1 students
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list)
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach and SEN-specific training
  • Passion for working with students with SEN
  • Flexibility to work in the Tulse Hill area and be available for both in-person and online tutoring
  • Ability to provide 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference
