The Opportunity:

We are seeking experienced GCSE Maths, English, and Science Tutors to provide high-quality tuition in the Guildford area. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs (SEN) through a structured and supportive teaching approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective tuition in Maths, English, and Science to GCSE students
  • Support students with special educational needs using the Bright Heart Approach
  • Build trust and confidence in students through a student-centred and nurturing style
  • Follow guidelines and training provided to ensure consistency and quality in teaching
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and education consultants
  • Prepare and review learning plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Attend training and development sessions to enhance teaching skills
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English, and Science
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Valid Enhanced DBS certificate with a check of the children’s barred list
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference
  • University qualification or currently studying towards one and A-levels

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to student well-being
  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach or similar student-centred teaching methods
  • Flexibility to work with a diverse range of students and families
